PLAN were asked to design a family garden that incorporated all the best loved elements of the existing site while creating a fresh aesthetic offering a variety of rich and welcoming spaces.  Functionally, the garden is split into thirds; more formal and structured near the house to an informal and more flexible lawn area leading to the growing garden at the far end.

The process began with a site visit and time well spent getting to know our client to establish a clear brief.

 

The family had a range of needs and aspirations from the garden. The concept design integrates formal dining and cooking space, relaxed seating around a fire bowl, flexible lawn space for spreading out and playing games and an organised productive garden allowing the family to grow a variety of fruit and veg.
