Holly and Jack established PLAN Design Landscape Architects Ltd in 2018 with 10 year’s experience in the industry. They met studying Landscape Architecture at the University of Gloucestershire in 2008, they have worked together at award winning practices in London and Gloucestershire and they have extensive and varied project experience in both the UK and abroad. Catrin joined the team in 2023 with 5 years industry experience working at an award winning practice in the south west. Catrin has varied experience across a breadth of project scales with an expertise in podium design and public realm.
The team constantly strives to incorporate the latest technologies and research, implementing the use of sustainable materials and sustainable drainage solutions (SuDs) whilst respecting the natural environment and working towards a greater future for our rural and urban spaces.
They have an established record of successfully delivering innovative and sustainable design from conceptual sketch ideas through to technical detail and completion on site.
Holly has a background in fine art and is passionate about creative sustainable and resilient design. Holly completed a BA(Hons) in Fine Art at Leeds Metropolitan specialising in contemporary landscape painting, she freelanced as an artist and creative designer before converting to Landscape Architecture in 2010 and later attaining her Chartership with the Landscape Institute in 2015.
Holly spent 10 years gaining valuable and varied experience in award winning practices in London and the South West on a wide variety of award winning projects including; residential, public realm, primary and secondary schools, universities, visitor centres, healthcare and garden design.
Holly's expertise centre around garden design, landscape led residential developments and educational landscapes; with experience of primary, secondary and university education, along with educational visitor centres. Holly has ample experience of community consultation and stakeholder engagement and she is passionate about ensuring landscape design addresses local needs, fulfils aspirations and has nature at its heart.
Along with being a chartered member of the Landscape Institute Holly is a pre-registered member of the Society of Garden Design and is on the pathway to full registration.
Catrin has a background in Geography and has a particular interest in understanding how people connect with the landscape around them. Catrin completed a BA (Hons) in Geography at Swansea University in 2016 from which she decided to use her degree to pursue a creative and impactful career in Landscape Architecture. Completing her Masters with distinction at Birmingham City University in 2018; and later attaining Chartership in 2021. Over the past 5 years she has collaborated on multiple award winning projects including a meanwhile park in London, residential schemes and educational projects. With further experience across the RIBA stages of residential Design Codes, public realm design for urban regeneration, roof terrace design and private gardens.Catrin prides herself in having worked across a breadth of project scales and audiences with expertise in podium and roof terrace design and public realm. As a passionate Landscape Architect, Catrin fully appreciates her role in helping to tackle biodiversity loss and climate change. This being an essential driver and starting point in her design work. To further her knowledge and to ensure all her projects are able to maximise long-term biodiversity value, visual impact and user enjoyment Catrin is currently studying for her RHS Level 2 in Horticulture.
Jack has a background in science and he is inspired by innovative landscape design and how to create intrigue in modern spaces. Jack completed a BSc (Hons) in Neuroscience at Bristol University where he specialised in human memory and evolution of perception before converting to Landscape Architecture in 2010 with a Post Graduate Diploma. Somehow, he found the common ground between both disciplines and he is passionate about creating spaces that enhance the human experience.
Jack spent 10 years in award winning practices in London, Hampshire and Gloucestershire where he gained valuable and varied experience. Jack has worked as a lead designer on many high profile schemes in London and around the world.
Jack's expertise centre around large scale and often high density residential and mixed-use urban developments, public realm design, masterplanning, overseas resorts and business parks. Jack frequently presents at Design Review Panels, Local Planning Authorities and to the Greater London Authority. He enjoys the challenge of using Landscape Architecture as a tool for making places people can love.
Bianka is a Chartered Landscape Architect with over 20 years of international experience working in New York, Berlin and London where she gained a great breadth of experience in designing for different scales, densities and types of projects.
Her project experience ranges from high end roof gardens and private residences in the heart of London and Manhattan to large scale and high density mixed-use, residential, public realm, commercial schemes, rural developments, education schemes and business parks in the UK and along the American East coast. She also has vast experience designing and detailing masterplans for urban regeneration projects in the UK, Germany and all over the United States.
Bianka graduated in Germany with a Master’s degree in Landscape Architecture and has been responsible for managing teams through all work stages (RIBA 0-7) from design inception through to the technical delivery of very complex and challenging schemes.
Bianka is passionate about the detail of design always delivering projects to the highest of standards.
RESOURCING
We are a small practice which allows us to provide our clients with a personal approach on all projects. We also have a network of highly qualified designers, artists, technicians and specialist consultants who can support on projects when required. We have established relationships with suppliers of high quality materials, specialist consultants and constructions services.
COLLABORATION
We strongly believe collaboration is the key to project success from early concept stages through to completion on site. Our drawing standards and file naming systems are based on industry standards to ease collaborative working. We constantly review our in-house standards to keep up-to-date with the latest technological advancements, British Standards and industry developments.
