PLAN were appointed to design and deliver a new family garden for a rural home in Herefordshire, taking the landscape through concept design, detailed design and construction, including the installation of the soft landscape. The design establishes a cohesive character around the house, bringing together hard materials, furniture and planting to create a consistent and welcoming setting.

New limestone paving and setts replace areas of piecemeal paving, providing a unified material palette that complements the architecture and creates a simple framework for the garden. Vibrant, textural planting defines key views, introduces structure and seasonal interest, and enlivens the external living spaces. Across the wider grounds, simple landscape interventions enhance biodiversity and strengthen valuable habitat, creating a garden that sits comfortably within its rural setting.
