A REGENERATIVE LANDSCAPE FOR THE WORKPLACE

 

PLAN were appointed by Grenadier Estates as part of a multidisciplinary design team to transform the landscape at Oxygen House into an exemplar model for sustainable workplaces of the future.

The proposals bring together renewable energy, productive gardens, habitat creation and spaces for work, rest and exercise. A new solar array and solar carports provide renewable energy and electric vehicle charging, while the existing car park is transformed into a productive garden designed to connect people with nature and support biodiversity.

The garden is designed around regenerative principles and permaculture, considering not only how the landscape is created but how it can be managed and evolve over time. Sustainable materials, low impact construction techniques, ecology led planting and circular approaches to maintenance all contribute to a more resilient landscape.

The vision is to create an integrated living system where people and nature can thrive alongside each other, providing a workplace that is environmentally responsible, engaging and somewhere people genuinely want to spend time.

 

The project has been nominated for both a Landscape Institute Award and an SGLD Award in recognition of its approach to regenerative and sustainable landscape design.
