The approach to the design of the new public realm surrounding the Interdisciplinary Biomedical Research Building reflects a shared aspiration to create an inspiring landscape which draws on the University’s rich heritage, the surrounding landscape character and the University’s culture of learning and innovation. The floor plane and furniture elements that sit within it are designed on a hexagon grid representing biological cells referencing the use of the new research building.
