PLAN were commissioned to design a modern garden for a young family in north London. The client requested a garden that is playful and intriguing with a range of intimate and open spaces for children and adults to enjoy.

The concept sought to create a garden which offered formal spaces nearer the house creating a relaxed indoor/outdoor relationship which transitions to a wilder more playful, woodland garden to the rear. The spaces located between two lawns provide an intimate dining area under the canopy of ornamental trees and an outdoor lounge and fire-pit area.

The design also includes an outdoor kitchen for family dining and entertaining, areas for growing fruit and vegetables, and multiple opportunities for creative play hidden amongst the planting.
