PLAN Design was established by Holly Birtles and Jack Dilworth in 2018, bringing together backgrounds in landscape architecture, fine art and neuroscience. We believe that the most successful landscapes are those that emerge from a deep understanding of their context. We look beyond the immediate site to explore its history, geology, ecology, topography and the way people experience and inhabit a place.

Our approach combines creativity and imagination with careful observation, research and technical expertise. The result is landscape that feels connected to its surroundings, responds to the people who use it and has the capacity to evolve over time.
